About My Clients

Struggling with anxiety and depression? Are negative and anxious thoughts and feelings taking you away from truly being present in life? Having difficulty in relationships and communicating your feelings in a productive way? Do you find yourself in a transitional point in your life and wanting to break out of patterns of thoughts or behaviors that are no longer working for you to move forward in life? Do you feel stuck in a rut and have a desire to move forward? If so, you are not alone!

My Background and Approach

I believe that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important components of counseling and crucial to the success of counseling. I strive to develop a therapeutic relationship built on empathy, mutual trust, respect, and caring. I also strive to work collaboratively with my clients to help them identify their specific problems, issues, or challenges in life, help them realize their strengths and weaknesses, set goals, and work as a system of support in helping them reach their goals. While the past provides insight into current behaviors and is important to discuss, most of my work with my clients in therapy is in the present, where clients have the most control of their life. I place focus on what the client views as the presenting problem, how they are responding to situations and people in their life, the change they desire and work collaboratively to develop strategies to create that change they desire.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe we are all doing the best we can in life and at times we find life overwhelming and find ourselves in need of support. We all strive to be the best version of ourselves, but sometimes we get stuck in a rut, and need some support and guidance to find our way out and to move forward in a positive manner. In different situations and times in our life, that support looks a little different. Sometimes we need someone to listen so that we feel heard. Sometimes we need someone to help us dig deep within ourselves and find the strengths we forgot we possessed. Sometimes, we need someone to help us find the tools we need to make the change we desire. Regardless of the level of support we need, the first step is seeking help and possessing a desire for change.
