My Background and Approach
I am a licensed psychologist with a master’s and doctoral degree in psychology from Loma Linda University. I have spent the past three years working with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, grief, and major life transitions. I completed my post-doctoral residency in a Level 4 correctional setting, where I supported individuals experiencing complex trauma, emotional distress, and significant life challenges. This experience deepened my understanding of the resilience it takes to heal and the importance of providing a compassionate, nonjudgmental space. My approach is warm, collaborative, and personalized. I help clients better understand themselves, identify patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful change. I have also published research on the treatment of traumatic brain injury (TBI), reflecting my commitment to evidence-based and thoughtful care.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My work is guided by the belief that healing and meaningful change are possible when people are met with compassion, understanding, and dignity. I believe in the importance of reform and creating systems that support rehabilitation, accountability, and recovery. Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals impacted by incarceration, trauma, addiction, and significant life challenges. I have supported diverse populations, including individuals navigating gender dysphoria, and strive to provide an inclusive, affirming, and respectful space where every client feels valued and understood. I am an active supporter of social justice efforts, including the Black Lives Matter movement and LGBTQ+ advocacy. I have volunteered to support LGBTQ+ pride groups within correctional settings and promote inclusion and belonging. I also dedicate time toward community efforts supporting rehabilitation, homelessness, and addiction recovery.
