About My Clients

Hello-are you stuck in people pleasing, shutting off your thoughts, fear of others judging you, finding your own space in family, feeling no one understands you, feeling alone, angry or resentful? I want you to know that you’re not alone in your journey, and I’m here to offer you a caring and supportive space to explore what you’re feeling. Life can be really tough at times, and it’s perfectly okay to seek help. My multicultural understanding provides my clients with unique perspective.

My Background and Approach

My clients express their gratitude for my support, empathy, understanding, and unconditional regard; they feel safe to speak their minds without being judged. I start with a biopsychosocial assessment to get an overall picture of my client’s mental processing, social experiences, and physical health. This helps me understand where my client is and helps to meet my client where they are in their lives. I also conduct a self-esteem assessment because I believe that is the root of most mental health issues. Next, I work with my client to understand the presenting problem and what they would like to achieve in therapy. Once the goals are collaboratively agreed upon, the therapeutic process begins. I like to assign worksheets, journaling, mindfulness exercises, and whatever applies to help clients reach their goals. It's important to me to conduct assessments periodically to see if client symptoms are reduced and get feedback from my client on what is working and what is not.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Cultural sensitivity is an important part of my practice, especially since I grew up as a first-generation Muslim and Palestinian in the United States. My worldview consists of a responsibility on this earth to be kind, giving, respectful, and loving to all humanity and do good for the whole. I believe, when I heal one client, I have impacted everyone around them and that is what motivates me to continue working as a licensed mental health professional. What's most exciting about the evolving mental health landscape is the focus on mindfulness and creating happiness. I enjoy reading about the effects of mindfulness and connection with nature and oneself as the fundamentals of reaching internal tranquility and strength. Telehealth has been so effective in creating global mental health platforms that have had healing effects on a great number of clients.
