About My Clients
I empower individuals & couples in Montrose, Houston, who feel stuck, disconnected, or uncertain, & want to better understand themselves & their relationships. Together, we’ll strengthen your voice & foster more authentic, connected relationships—with yourself & others.
My Background and Approach
My therapeutic style is flexible & integrative, shaped by the specific needs & experiences of each person. I blend body & nervous system awareness, attachment work, trauma-informed care, narrative therapy, parts work, queer theory, & other modalities to help you make sense of your internal & relational worlds.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I’ve always had a therapist within me. As a teenager, I set up “Sunday talks” with friends, asking questions like, “Why do you do what you do?” Growing up as a cisgender gay man in a conservative world that prized sameness over authenticity, I think I was curious about others because I was trying to understand myself and my place in the world. That curiosity led me to study literature in college and later teach high school English in Utah. After a few years, I traded classrooms for barns and moved to Texas, where I found my heart horse, Arisa. Training rescue and dressage horses, I specialized in liberty work—no ropes, just presence, patience, and trust. Those experiences shaped what I believe about healing: growth happens through relationship—with ourselves, others, our past, and the world around us. In 2020, I returned to that calling, becoming a licensed professional counselor and founding Moss Therapy—a space for reflection, connection, and steady, meaningful change.
