About My Clients
Change can often times be difficult, it's even more difficult when trying to create change on our own. Often times, we may even feel that we are no longer in control of ourselves, which makes trying to remain consistent with change even harder. When we feel alone and on our own, it makes it feel like nothing will ever change, but I would like to challenge that with you. Through working together, we can create positive change that brings you towards a stable and fulfilled life.
My Background and Approach
I got my start as a therapist by providing group therapy in an intensive outpatient program for people who struggled with depression, anxiety, and various other mental health concerns. This is where I developed my style as a therapist who utilizes whiteboards and hands on illustrations to show group members how their thoughts, feelings, and emotions lead to their experiences. Over time my style of therapy was not only hands-on and analytical, but also an eclectic blend of therapy styles that I adjusted and personalized for my clients. After working there, I worked with my local county to assist people who struggled with addiction and also people who struggled with process and behavioral addictions. I also worked with underserved populations who vocalized their depression and anxiety to clinicians and assisted our recently diagnosed HIV and AIDS clients in processing and navigating their diagnoses.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
If you are looking for a hands-on approach with visual aids and a detail oriented analytical approach, I am absolutely going to be the right fit for you. My style of therapy uses a strong CBT approach with a virtual whiteboard that I use in session to illustrate a breakdown of how your thoughts feelings and emotions influence behavior. I have a full library of infographics that I have created in collaboration with many of my past and present clients, each one shows someone else's real lived experiences which provides valuable affirming feedback.
