About My Clients
I support caregivers and young children develop coping and social skills to navigate different stages of development through child centered play therapy, somatic techniques, and mindfulness techniques. With adults, I have connected well with those who are interested in inner child work, attachment healing, and are recovering from past traumas in their youth. This may be a young adult or someone who is seeking a deeper connection with their bodies and inner worlds.
My Background and Approach
I utilized primarily somatic and depth psychology techniques to assist clients meet their goals. I also enjoy dance therapy and DBT techniques as needed.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe people are inherently good. Evidence shows that we may make poor decisions and behave not in our best interests but when provided support from the environment and care from the community, healing can occur. My approach assists families and individuals develop these internal resources but also find those that are aligned with their goals in life. My beliefs broach decolonization and are informed by post-colonial theory. I stand on the shoulders of giants such as Edward Said, Franz Fanon, Bell Hooks, and Patricia Hill Collins. For me, therapy and healing is inextricably tied to politics. I enjoy bringing the cultural layers and love to discuss liberation psychology as well.
