About My Clients
My ideal client may be new to therapy or have been on this journey for years. They may be struggling with alcoholism or feeling distant from their faith, yet open to change and renewal. I work best with clients seeking honesty, grace, and growth—those ready to explore healing through self-reflection, faith, and the hope that lasting change is possible.
My Background and Approach
As the owner of MI Recovery PLC, in Chelsea, MI (MIRecoveryPLC.com), I’m an LMSW and CAADC specializing in helping individuals navigate substance use disorders and the complex emotions that come with recovery. I believe addiction is not a moral failing, but a human experience shaped by pain, resilience, and the need for connection. My approach blends evidence-based practices—such as CBT, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care—with deep respect for each person’s story. At MI Recovery, my team and I provide a supportive, judgment-free space to address anxiety, depression, and grief while building skills for lasting recovery. I work collaboratively, emphasizing self-compassion, accountability, and practical change. Whether you’re seeking sobriety, harm reduction, or simply understanding, my goal is to help you move from surviving to living with purpose and balance.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have over 15 years of continuous recovery from alcohol and substance use, and that journey deeply shapes my work as a therapist. I understand firsthand the courage it takes to face change and the many paths people take toward healing. I support clients who find meaning in 12-step programs as well as those who prefer other recovery approaches. As a person of Christian faith, I believe in the grace of God and the power of salvation to transform even the most difficult chapters of our lives. No matter what you’ve experienced, grace and healing are always available when you’re ready to receive them. I know how hard it can be to accept that gift—it took me time, too—but it completely changed my inner world and my life’s direction. Whether you’re grounded in faith, questioning it, or unsure where you stand, you’ll find a safe, accepting space here to explore recovery and renewal in your own way.
