Stephen Morris

I believe that positive and desired change can be accomplished by changing one's cognitions, thoughts and beliefs. My philosophy of care is that I believe that therapy is most effective when a spirit of collaboration exists between client and therapist and when the client is an active participant in the treatment.

When working with couples, I help them to recognize that transgressions can be overcome through consistent counseling that will address ways to begin the forgiveness process, develop appropriate conflict resolution and establish appropriate communication methods.

Specialty area

I work with couples to accept that arguing is inevitable but learn how to disagree fairly. I work with couples to address infidelity or emotional affairs and learn how to move forward with proven techniques that work when the persons involved are willing to be committed to the process of healing.

I work with individuals to understand the myths about anger, to break the anger habit, to learn how to monitor and manage anger, to identify events that trigger anger and to develop strategies to prevent anger.

I work with children of all ages with regards to various issues including but not limited to: ADHD, ADD, ODD, trauma, bullying, depression, low self esteem, feeling misunderstood, anger, defiance, impulse control, anxiety and temper tantrums.
