About My Clients
My clients are typically between the ages of 4-19yo and present with a wide variety of needs. My passion is working with children and adolescents, and my goal is to create a space where kids & teens can express themselves and work toward their goals with support. Children & adolescents have experienced a lot in the past year through the pandemic and may have a lot of feelings or needs stemming from stressors related to the last year. My clients often seek support around managing related needs.
My Background and Approach
I am certified in trauma therapy and working with personality disorders. I have experience working with both children and adults in the field, however I primary see children & teens in my private practice. I use modalities including DBT, CBT, and narrative therapy to support a wide variety of client needs. Most importantly my approach is always client centered.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe all children & teens can benefit from a safe place to share their feelings and practice ways to safely manage distress. Sessions with my clients often focus on practicing feelings identification, identifying triggers to distress, recognizing warning signs that lead to escalation or unsafe situations, and developing new safe & effective ways to manage tough emotions. I seek to build on the many strengths that my clients bring into therapy and to support kids and teens in strengthening their self-esteem and self-image to promote overall well being and care.
