I have expertise in providing evidenced-based treatments to individuals who experience a variety of challenges related to anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, grief, anger management, marital and family conflict, divorce, adjustment disorder, parenting skills, spirituality, coping skills, life transitions, acculturation/immigration, existential concerns, bipolar disorders, racial minorities, and chronic illness.
My Background and Approach
(Telehealth/Virtual only) Dr. Torres, Psy. D., was born and raised in Ponce, Puerto Rico. She earned a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Ponce Health Sciences University in 2020 with Academic Honors. She obtained a Master of Science in Psychology in 2018. In 2016, Dr. Torres completed a professional certificate in family and couples therapy at Ponce Health Sciences University. She graduated cum laude from the PUCPR in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in Social Work and a minor in Psychology. Dr. Torres employs an eclectic approach that incorporates techniques from various modalities, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Strengths-based Therapy, Milan Systemic Family Therapy, and Structural Family Therapy.

Her approach is inclusive, synergetic, and trauma-informed. She strives to create a safe, warm, and non-judgmental environment, where all individuals are treated with respect, uniqueness, egalitarianism, and anti-racism. Her goal is to help clients promote personal growth, overcome challenges, and facilitate the emotional and healing process.
