About My Clients
I work with adults and adolescents who have a variety of challenges, from depression and anxiety to OCD and bipolar disorder. I specialize in postpartum and women’s issues and use a variety of therapy strategies depending on your needs and strengths. I am trained in EMDR, trauma-informed counseling, and mindfulness interventions.
My Background and Approach
I have a Master's degree in mental health counseling from Westminster College. I did my internship work at a Utah non-profit where I learned to create client-focused therapeutic relationships that foster healing and growth. If you choose to start therapy with me my first goal is to understand who you are, what brings you into counseling, and what you want to achieve in the counseling process. My second goal is to create a safe therapeutic relationship in which you have the freedom to claim, write, and rewrite your story. This is where so much healing and growth can happen. Starting or restarting therapy is a courageous act. Your courage can lead to hope, connection, and healing!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that there is always hope and that counseling can make a difference. I believe that counseling can help you explore difficult issues, find ways to decrease suffering, and increase feelings of well-being and connection. I believe that mental health counseling can improve your mood, help you create more meaningful relationships, and enjoy better physical health. Congratulations on considering counseling.
