About My Clients
I take an integrative approach in which I blend different but complementary techniques. This flexible approach enables the counseling experience to be tailored to the individual needs of each client. I have experience in nature-based therapy and also bring my passion for art to my work. I utilize these different approaches to work with anxiety, depression, loss and grief, education and learning, low self-esteem, phase of life issues, family and relationship challenges, and substance use
My Background and Approach
I work collaboratively and creatively, walking alongside you on your journey, to help you navigate life's challenges. Together, we will explore opportunities for creative growth so you may (re)discover your sense of well-being. I have training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Mindfulness. I have experience in nature-based therapy and also bring my passion for art to my work. We will explore experiential activities, skill building, psycho-education and activities for you complete between sessions. Together, we will work to deepen your awareness and understanding of your needs to decrease symptoms and increase wellness so you may experience a more authentic and fulfilling life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the inherent dignity and worth of every person and that every person deserves the opportunity to experience joy, hope, health, relief, and recovery. I lost my father to cancer many years ago, and therapy, talk and nature-based, helped me find myself again when I felt so lost. It provided with me a different perspective, and a fresh path, so to speak, that I was unable to see for myself. I spend much of my time outdoors, hiking, backpacking, camping, mountain biking, paddleboarding, as it is my grounding space. I make it a priority to financially support causes that speak to me, such as mutual aid efforts and therapy for marginalized communities.
