About My Clients
I work primarily with individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, and mood instability. My experience does not stop there, however. I work with individuals, families, and couples seeking greater clarity and understanding in their relationships. My clients are LGBTQ+, representative of all racial and ethnic backgrounds, ability levels, and come from various socioeconomic backgrounds.
My Background and Approach
I started my social work career in 2016. My previous work history was in education, with children and adolescents ages 5-18. My therapeutic approach is rooted in Psychodynamic practice, and I employ interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) when appropriate.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
We are all incredibly complex. With all that wonderful complexity, we sometimes need help with helping ourselves. I recognize my privilege as a white, cisgender female. I believe our society is unequal, and too many people have to make too many impossible choices due to economic human rights violations. I believe in a woman's right to choose what is right for herself and her body. Black lives matter. LGBTQ+ lives matter. I believe in the transformative power of psychotherapy.
