If you are experiencing anxiety, depression, or responses to trauma, you are probably acutely aware of how your emotions affect your mind and body. Maybe you feel dread, worry, and lack of motivation or perhaps heaviness in your chest, heart racing, or tightness in your throat. Our emotions are so powerful, both the positive and the negative, in how we experience life. The good news is, you can learn to approach hard emotions differently, reduce the suffering, and move on with more ease.
My Background and Approach
Mental health is deeply personal and many of us weren't given the tools to manage difficult emotions. I aim to create a space for you where healing feels possible. My goal is to bring you practical methods to improve your mental health with proven strategies such as ACT/CBT and somatic practices, so you can feel relief in the important aspects of your life. You don't know what you don't know until you know it, and how could you? We will work together to discover what methods will work best for you. I don't have a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy because no one is exactly like you. I am here to bring techniques that help people generally but, at the end of the day, you are the expert of you. I strive to give you practical methods for improving your mental health and create a space for you where healing feels possible. I offer services in-office or via telehealth to help you in the way the fits you best.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that there is a ton of value in talking to someone who does not have a connection to your "real" life. In therapy, you can explore difficult parts of your life without worrying if someone is going to take it wrong, gossip or worry about you, or add their biases when giving you advice because they want things to work out best for them. And, on top of that, you will have research-based proven strategies to help you manage the difficult emotions sprinkled in the conversations! How cool is that? Most importantly, it is essential that you feel comfortable with your provider. The therapeutic relationship is the foundation of effective therapy.
