My Background and Approach
I earned a Bachelors in Psychology from Antioch University and a Masters in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. I am currently under the supervision of Lanier Meeks Yi, MA, MA, LPC, NCC, CPCS. Trained in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic theories, I bring a comprehensive understanding of human behavior and interpersonal dynamics to my practice. My approach is rooted in establishing a strong therapeutic alliance and creating a supportive environment where clients can explore and heal.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe wholeheartedly in the ability to grow through the therapeutic process, viewing it as a transformative process that fosters resilience, understanding, and personal evolution. Central to my belief is the idea that growth through therapy is a collaborative effort. It requires openness, vulnerability, and a willingness to confront discomfort. Each session is a step forward, a chance to reframe perspectives, challenge limiting beliefs, and cultivate new ways of being. Moreover, I see therapy as a continuous journey rather than a quick fix. This ongoing commitment to personal growth is both empowering and liberating, offering opportunities for healing old wounds and forging a path toward greater fulfillment. Through my experiences on both sides of the chair, I've learned that our stories are not defined by our past but by the choices we make and the courage to embark on a journey of self-discovery and growth.
