About My Clients
Not accepting new clients. Life is more than the simple math equation you once thought it was. It's a bit more like the 'story problems' where details can get lost and, sometimes, it seems impossible to balance it all out. Life's big moments can be hard - even the 'exciting ones' like graduation, Thanksgiving Dinner, marriage, a new baby, and career shifts. If life is feeling like a 'trick question' right now, this could be a good time to find a supportive counselor to help you sort it all out.
My Background and Approach
Whether you are facing a quarter life crisis or a long-term issue, it's likely that you have already tried to do some of this work on your own, but are ready to gain deeper understanding, acquire new skills, and explore possibilities. You will find our sessions to be an affirming space where you can meditate on big questions, shed tears without judgement, and laugh when it feels right. I believe meaning and purpose are central to life's joys and sorrows. Using evidenced-based approaches tailored to your needs, we'll build on this foundation. We will work together at the pace you set on the goals you prioritize. Please know this: you are not a problem to be solved. You are a unique individual with a story that needs to be heard, talents to be celebrated, and dreams to be discovered. Prioritizing mental health is imperative to truly thrive. Things are hard right now, but, if you are reading this, you've already turned the page on your next chapter!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe recovery is possible and that we are all recovering from something. I believe your pain is real. I believe in the power of love in fostering healing, motivating action, and inspiring change. I believe we can learn from each other. I celebrate diversity. I believe in the Platinum Rule - treat others as they wish to be treated. I believe in both second chances and going separate ways. I believe that family grows from the heart, not only the womb. I believe music is magical. I believe hope is the beginning of something beautiful. I approach each person I encounter with an open heart and embrace the whole person. Over the last ten years, I've applied this style in clinical, interfaith, and educational spaces to cultivate growth and deeper connections. Working in diverse spaces has broadened my understanding of the world and deepened my desire to serve. Others have helped me to find light in the darkness, and I aspire to do the same for my clients, friends, and family.
