About My Clients

My work is rooted in a return toward authenticity after living a life of people-pleasing, hiding, and rotating between different social masks. We all wear masks for different reasons–to protect vulnerable parts of ourselves, to avoid conflict, etc.. The downside of this is sometimes we wear the mask for so long that we forget who we actually are beneath it. I'm the therapist for you if you are ready to make courageous contact with who you really are inside including the beautiful and the messy.

My Background and Approach

My approach to therapy is rooted in somatic experiencing, relational, and parts-work oriented. My belief is that healing doesn't occur from merely talking about what hurts. It requires us to make courageous contact with the parts of ourselves that we hide away and to find capacity to stay present with what hurts. The ability to meet the painful parts of ourselves with tenderness and care is what allows it to transform into something new. The relationship between you and I is also pivotal to the work. We’ll work with both what’s happening inside you and what’s happening between us. Sometimes the very patterns you’re trying to shift such as people-pleasing, masking your true thoughts and feelings, and fear of judgment show up in the therapy room. When those patterns appear between us, we treat them with the same tenderness and curiosity as we begin to shift the dynamic.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Growing up, I learned to use perfectionism, people-pleasing, and defensiveness as a mask to hide away the parts of myself that I felt were unloveable. I was afraid that if people looked too closely at me, they would see all my ugly and reject me for it. This fear shaped my entire personality for years and years and years. My own healing journey started as an effort to fix and rid myself of all the qualities I deemed unloveable so that I could finally feel enough. However, the deeper I journeyed, the more I realized that I never needed to change myself in order to be enough. I only needed to create enough inner spaciousness for all parts of me to co-exist without judgement. Rather than shunning these parts of myself away, I learned how to invite them in for tea. This started a radical journey of reclaiming my self and my truth.
