About My Clients
Living with chronic pain and invisible illness can create a cycle of pushing beyond your limits, crashing, recovering, and doing it all over again. I understand the challenge of balancing your health with the demands of work, family, and everyday life. I also know how difficult it can be to recognize and honor your limits when your body is unpredictable. If you’re tired of pushing through then paying for it later, it's time to learn how to work with your body, not against it.
My Background and Approach
With more than 14 years of clinical experience supporting people through a wide range of mental health challenges, combined with my own lived experience navigating chronic illness while balancing a career, motherhood, and everyday life, I bring both professional expertise and personal understanding to our work together. Therapy with me is a place where you don't have to prove that you're struggling, minimize what you're experiencing, or pretend you have more capacity than you do. We'll first explore how chronic illness has affected your body, identity, relationships, work, energy, and expectations for yourself. Next we will identify patterns of pushing through, crashing, guilt, overcommitment, and self-criticism so you can respond to your body's signals differently. We'll clarify your values and priorities so you can make decisions about your energy and time with greater intention. Finally, we'll develop sustainable ways to care for yourself while navigating limitations.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that our emotional struggles have to be viewed in the context of our lived experiences and systemic challenges. Our mental and physical health is influenced and impacted by our environment, our communities, our social support, financial factors, and more. For this reason, I think it is crucial to understand our own struggles within the context of the broader life circumstances we navigate. This includes race, gender, geography, access to healthcare, educational opportunities, and so much more. I also identify as a humble and proud ally to the LGBTQIA+ community.
