About My Clients
I see individual clients through telehealth, ages 11 years old into adulthood. I have experience working with adolescents and young adults, focusing on adjustment issues, transitions to adulthood, career exploration, and developing healthy relationships. I have experience working with adults around issues of adjustment, anxiety, depression, PTSD, co-dependency, generational trauma, divorce, boundary setting, communication skill building, and integrating spirituality for wellness.
My Background and Approach
I have worked with children, couples, and families as a clinical social worker for over 14 years in Michigan, and have experience working with other helping professionals to address secondary traumatic stress and issues of occupational burnout. As a therapist, I view my role as supporting my clients in the healing work they choose to do. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. I use a client centered and holistic approach, and I believe in meeting my clients where they are in order to provide a trusting, safe therapeutic relationship. I integrate mindfulness and meditation techniques for stress reduction, and teach these grounding skills to my clients. I provide resources to support clients both in and outside of sessions, but I do not provide on-call or 24/7 crisis response to clients.
