About My Clients
Are you finding your journey into motherhood has been more stressful than expected? Are you feeling anxious or questioning whether the baby blues have actually turned into postpartum depression? You might feel like you have lost a part of yourself or are struggling to find a balance that feels manageable for you. Let me help. I am a mom of two young kids. I get it! AndI have some solutions to help you cope and navigate your way through this challenging, yet rewarding time of your life.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in treating perinatal concerns as well as general anxiety disorders, major depressive disorders, stress-management concerns, self-esteem struggles, codependency, relationship concerns, and any life transitions you might be facing that are causing you stress. I take a humanistic approach to therapy, which means I won't be looking for pathology, but will instead view your struggles through the lens of the human experience, which is shaped by our own histories, environments, families, relationships, and the protective mechanisms we create to help us navigate our world. My approach is interpersonal, relying heavily on our therapeutic relationship as a foundation to guide our work. I typically teach mindfulness skills as well as cognitive behavioral principles to empower you towards healthier self-talk and improved self-regulation. I tailor my approach to each individual client's specific needs and goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Over the many years I have been doing this work, I have come to realize there is nothing more valuable than the healing nature of the therapeutic relationship. Our sessions together will be your time, a sacred space just to focus on you, where your feelings are heard and validated, where you can speak freely without fear of judgment, and where your authentic self will always be welcome. It's okay to take this time for you. I look forward to meeting you and getting started.
