About My Clients
If you are dealing with both addiction and mental health challenges like anxiety, depression, or chronic stress, it can feel exhausting and overwhelming. You may have tried to focus on one issue at a time, only to feel stuck or frustrated. If substances have become a way to cope with difficult emotions, they may no longer be working the way you need. You want real relief, better emotional control, and practical tools to manage life without relying on unhealthy coping patterns.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) with a Master’s degree in Psychology and more than 18 years of experience helping adults and families navigate substance use, addiction, and co-occurring mental health concerns. Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals at different stages of recovery, from those beginning to question their substance use to those working to maintain long-term recovery. I specialize in substance use counseling, relapse prevention, co-occurring anxiety and depression, stress management, and developing healthier coping skills. My approach incorporates evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, person-centered care, and harm reduction. These approaches can help you identify triggers, understand patterns contributing to substance use, strengthen motivation for change, and develop practical strategies for managing difficult emotions and situations.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect, regardless of where they are in their recovery journey. I understand that substance use is often connected to difficult life experiences, stress, relationships, mental health concerns, and the ways we learn to cope with pain. I believe recovery is personal and there is no single path that works for everyone. I support meeting people where they are, whether their goal is abstinence, reducing substance use, preventing relapse, or simply beginning to explore their relationship with drugs or alcohol. My approach is grounded in compassion, harm reduction, personal choice, and creating a space where people can speak openly without feeling judged or ashamed. I believe people are more than their addiction, diagnosis, or past decisions.
