About My Clients

Achievers are ambitious, smart, and determined. They’re goal-oriented and have high expectations; which often leads to success. However, achievers of all ages can often get stuck in perfectionism, loneliness, and apathy when under stress. I work with: teen girls who have their sights set on college, competitive sports or the performing/creative arts; twenty-somethings who are seeking clarity on their path; and professional men who are overwhelmed and would like to cope with stress better.

My Background and Approach

I have spent the last 20 years as a social worker helping people like you establish greater wellbeing. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and obtained both of my degrees from UT Austin. I have advanced training in mindfulness, adolescent-specific approaches, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I became a therapist because I realized early on that I had a unique skill set of empathy, compassion, understanding and sensitivity that allows me to connect with others. I have experienced anxiety and depression at times in my life and know how isolating it can feel. I also know I am not alone in the world and neither are you! Our work together will be collaborative, intentional, and active. We will identify values and goals, work on establishing healthy habits, and learn tangible skills that you can begin using immediately. Therapy can help you avoid burnout and reach new heights in both your personal and professional lives.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that we are inherently whole; there is more right than wrong with us. We are not broken nor do we need to be fixed! I also believe strongly in the neuroplasticity - the brain's ability to rewire and reorganize itself. Humans of all ages have the potential to adapt, grow, and develop. It is never to late to change. I am passionate about a holistic approach to therapy and emphasize the importance of healthy habits (proper sleep, nutrition, exercise, and stress reduction). My professional values are rooted in the core social work values: service, social justice, dignity and worth of people, importance of human relationships, integrity and competence. I exercise almost daily, indulge in regular lattes and read voraciously. I love my dogs and cooking and traveling. I am committed to personal discovery and growth so we are in this together!!
