I believe that diversity is beautiful. My success with clients is rooted in my ability to celebrate all parts of my clients with curiosity and respect. Growing up as a token minority in the Midwest, raised by immigrant parents from two different cultures, I have learned to embrace difference and human complexity with genuine appreciation. I seek to hold unconditional positive regard toward all of my clients regardless of differences around race, ethnicity, political views, religious beliefs, etc. I strive to give my clients the benefit of the doubt at all times, believing that there is always a valid reason behind their thoughts, feelings, and actions.
I believe that we live in a system that is broken and unjust. I challenge the societal constructs that have shaped the value judgments we have of ourselves. I practice Cognitive Behavioral Therapy not only in regards to identifying individuals' irrational thoughts, but the irrationality of our social, political, and economic system.
