About My Clients

If you desire connection and intimacy, not just in your romantic life, but in all of your important relationships, I'd love to work with you! I focus on relationships because I believe that the root of almost all of our emotional struggles stems from broken relationships. I am social justice oriented, and I welcome people of all genders, sexual orientations, races, nationalities, and abilities.

My Background and Approach

I believe in the transformative power of radical self-awareness and genuine self-acceptance. I believe that change happens as we understand ourselves and the human condition from an open, curious, and nonjudgmental perspective. Healing comes not from escaping “bad” feelings, but from learning to embrace and tolerate the complexities of what it means to be human. We cannot have intimacy without connection; we cannot have connection without authenticity; we cannot be authentic if we don’t know or like who we are. I offer deep, transformative work with my clients, helping them to gain insight around where their thoughts, feelings, and actions come from. My hope is that in having a relationship with my clients where they experience the liberation that comes from letting down their guard and being seen and accepted for who they truly are, they will be able to cultivate this kind of authentic relationship with others.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that diversity is beautiful. My success with clients is rooted in my ability to celebrate all parts of my clients with curiosity and respect. Growing up as a token minority in the Midwest, raised by immigrant parents from two different cultures, I have learned to embrace difference and human complexity with genuine appreciation. I seek to hold unconditional positive regard toward all of my clients regardless of differences around race, ethnicity, political views, religious beliefs, etc. I strive to give my clients the benefit of the doubt at all times, believing that there is always a valid reason behind their thoughts, feelings, and actions. I believe that we live in a system that is broken and unjust. I challenge the societal constructs that have shaped the value judgments we have of ourselves. I practice Cognitive Behavioral Therapy not only in regards to identifying individuals' irrational thoughts, but the irrationality of our social, political, and economic system.

I have experience with the following
  • Agnosticism
  • Atheism
  • Christianity
