About My Clients
My clients are adults who have been managing on their own for too long. Pushing through anxiety, powering through low days, convincing themselves it is not that bad. Many are people of color, first-generation, or women who have been told their struggles are "just stress" or "just hormones." They are looking for a provider who actually listens, takes the time, and sees them as a whole person. If that sounds like you, I am here and I am not going anywhere.
My Background and Approach
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and the founder of Nueva Vida Psychiatry. I specialize in anxiety, depression, ADHD, PMDD, and trauma in adults. What makes my practice different is that I take the time. My evaluations are thorough. My visits are not rushed. I listen to what is actually going on in your life, your stress, your relationships, your sleep, your hormones, your history, because all of that matters when we are figuring out the right path forward together. I provide psychiatric evaluations and medication management, and I coordinate closely with therapists to make sure your care is connected. I offer both in-person and telehealth appointments. If you are ready to be heard, really heard, I am here.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As an Afro-Latina, I bring a deep understanding of what it means to navigate intersecting identities, cultural expectations, and the ways those experiences can show up in your mental health. I believe that good psychiatric care means seeing the whole person, not just a checklist of symptoms. I believe your story, your culture, and your lived experience matter just as much as your symptoms when building a treatment plan. I am especially passionate about working with people of color, first-generation individuals, and women who have been dismissed or told their struggles are "just stress" or "just hormones." I built Nueva Vida Psychiatry because I wanted to create the kind of care I wished existed. Unhurried, culturally affirming, and rooted in really seeing people. Everyone deserves a provider who listens without rushing and treats them with dignity. That is not a luxury. That is the baseline.
