Hello, I’m Stephanie! I am an EMDR trained therapist in Decatur. I attended social work school at NYU and have been practicing 14 years.
Psychotherapist in Decatur, GA
I have experience working with clients who have experienced trauma ranging from a single incident like an accident to chronic, complex trauma starting in childhood like physical or sexual abuse.
I will help you seek to understand the intersections of your history and your current patterns through the use of our therapeutic relationship. Join me in a safe space to process, understand and work through your pain.
I encourage the use of mindfulness based practices including medication to begin to acknowledge how we are feeling, to learn how to work with our feelings and invite them in when we are ready for them, and to help us remain present in the moment.
This practice uses eye movements or other stimulation to help desensitize and reprocess memories that may be preventing you from living life fully in the moment. This can be useful for people who have experienced trauma, chronic illness, anxiety, depression and variety of concerns.
We all know raising a child requires a village, but becoming the parent you would like to be also takes one. Examine your feelings and parenting goals in a safe, judgement free zone.
With a background in hospital social work, I understand how deeply connected our physical health is with our own perceptions of our self worth and abilities. I provide a safe space to explore staying connected to the present moment in the midst of uncertainty.
I have worked with countless parents or caregivers who have lost children to cancer, chronic illness, or traumatic accidents.
