About My Clients
The people I work with often struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, and tend to be hard on themselves. Whether this comes from childhood, past traumas, or unhealthy relationships that make you feel like you you're not enough, it's ok to ask for help. My goal is to help you feel seen, heard, and figure out the version of yourself you want to be. I particularly enjoy working with teens and people navigating unhealthy relationships.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed and Board Certified Art Therapist with additional training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed approaches, and mindfulness-based stress reduction. If you're new to art therapy and unsure whether it's right for you, no worries! It is one tool in the toolbox. Some clients use art supplies every session and some never use them at all. We can use art making for personal exploration and expression, or just as a way to relax while you talk about tough subjects. We might also focus on skills, like communication or managing emotions. I will tailor my approach to your needs, and we will figure out together what skills and techniques are most helpful.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My belief about therapy is that it's two things at once: accepting yourself as you are, while also noticing what's not working and giving yourself the tools to move forward. I feel strongly that vulnerability is a strength and that many people do not get the support they deserve. My background includes a lot of work with domestic violence survivors and I'm very passionate about helping people get out of and heal from abusive relationships. You deserve more!
