About My Clients
Are you finding yourself overwhelmed most days? Do you tend to put others needs before your own? Maybe you feel the weight of the negative self-talk getting louder and harder to manage. That inner voice can really put you down and leave you in a state of constant stress. Speaking from experience, the internal battle can feel quite isolating. If this resonates, my hope is to guide you through the messy world of emotions and help give you an experience of what it means to hold yourself in love.
My Background and Approach
Some therapeutic themes I see in my work with clients include imposter syndrome, codependent relationships, difficulty expressing needs, loneliness, low self- confidence, history of childhood trauma, social anxiety and panic attacks. My experience as a third generation Asian- American provides unique insight into recognizing the importance of culture, environment, and family and how ultimately, it shapes our identity. If you're wanting to try an alternative to traditional talk therapy I am also a board certified art therapist where art can be used in our work together. It can be difficult to verbalize what we want and need for ourselves and from others. Art therapy can help make sense of what pains us, to aide in self-expression and provide a different perspective that words may not have brought forth. And please don’t worry if you have no prior art experience. I remind my clients that it is more about expression of our internal world than about the aesthetics.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have a soft spot for the work that I do because I have personally participated in the often difficult but beautiful therapy journey. Healing begins with the safety created when someone is willing to sit in it with us, in the context of our whole story, which is why my priority is to create a non-judgmental and open space for you to be seen, understood, and empowered to face the difficulties in your life.
