About My Clients
I help ambitious, creative, and compassionate professional women ready to make an impact on the world, but struggle with trusting their own instincts. If you are feeling misunderstood, alone, and/or fighting excessive perfectionism and self-judgement, I will support you in uncovering the tools you already possess for authentically connecting with your inner strength and wisdom.
My Background and Approach
My experience working with a broad spectrum of age and developmental needs, both nationally and abroad, gives me a unique insight into the variety of communication and self-expression. As a Somatic therapist, LPC, and Dance/Movement therapist, my background as a performance artist, teacher, and leader aids in my experiential and creative approach to therapy. Unlike reading self-help blogs that don't work or struggling with self destructive habits and feeling badly about yourself, I will give you specific techniques to help you make better decisions, connect with your body and feel more empowered. Rather than looking for answers externally, I support you to understand your needs and reach your fullest potential in relationships with others, your environment, and yourself. My commitment to diversity, nonviolence and compassion allows me to create authentic connections and loving environments. I look forward to sharing this with you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I maintain the belief that we all have been exposed to recurring interpersonal violence, be it experiences in early childhood, societal marginalization and oppression, or in toxic relationships where our sense of security, stability, and ability to be present in relationships has been significantly compromised. Unfortunately, western culture severely discounts the impact those (sometimes everyday) experiences have on our ability to be effective, impactful and creative in our lives. I challenge the perception that "what we do/how much effort/ how productive we are defines our value, personal power and self-worth." The personal work required to challenge inherited beliefs is challenging, but I am continuously inspired by the resiliency and possibilities that my clients achieve through accessing the inner wisdom they already have. I have worked through defying my own odds, and believe in this possibility for every person in any phase of life.
