My Background and Approach
My goal with Present Moment Counseling Services is to support women from pregnant to postpartum to parenthood and beyond. I have spent the last 10 years working with mothers through anxiety, parenting overwhelm, mom guilt, feeling burnt out, sensory overload, and postpartum issues. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), attachment & family systems models, & mindfulness techniques. I am a strengths-focused, goal-oriented therapist. My goal is to first and foremost help you feel better now, then build your toolbox so you stay that way in the future. I am also a certified Circle of Security attachment-based parenting program facilitator, and facilitate groups for new and experienced mothers as well.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As the parent of a young child, I have spent the last several years witnessing the mothers around me (including myself!) face pressures and stress they never had before; parenting during a global pandemic, daycare struggles, formula shortages, school safety... all the while being expected to hold it all together and, as usual, at the sacrifice of her own needs. I started my practice to address all this and more with mothers who feel unsupported and alone. I want to help you climb out from under the rubble of the last couple years, figure out your village, and pave your new path!
