About My Clients
I welcome clients of all backgrounds, and especially enjoy working with: high-pressure professionals feeling the cost of the grind, perfectionists and overthinkiers with strong inner critics, second-generation Asian Americans navigating family and identity, couples stuck in the same fight, premarital couples, women weathering PMDD or postpartum anxiety and depression, and Christians of all kinds wanting their faith respected or ethically integrated into their therapy.
My Background and Approach
Clients describe me as warm, witty, and perceptive, and they tend to appreciate my honesty in session. My approach is founded on the idea that the relationship between us is a primary instrument of healing. I don't set my own humanness aside, but use it to connect with you more deeply. Sometimes that means I will share my inner responses with you when I sense it will move your work forward. I also listen for what lives behind the things you bring in, the older story underneath this week's version of it. Sometimes that means working with parts of you that feel at odds with each other, helping them move toward integration and acceptance.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a daughter of Korean immigrants raising a biracial child, I navigate the space between cultures from both sides. I bring a keen interest in acculturation, belonging, family expectations, and intercultural relationships to my work with AAPI and bicultural clients.
