About My Clients

My clients are often navigating ADHD-related challenges such as focus, organization, emotional regulation, and overwhelm, alongside self-criticism and shame. Many feel misunderstood or weighed down by stigma, internalized beliefs, or family patterns. I also work with those impacted by transgenerational trauma and attachment wounds. Across these experiences, clients are seeking greater self-understanding, emotional balance, and a more grounded, values-aligned way of living.

My Background and Approach

My approach to therapy is shaped by both lived experience and clinical work. I’m a biracial Black woman with ADHD. I grew up in a single parent home with a sibling with complex medical needs. I’ve worked with kids on the autism spectrum, in teen residential treatment, and in K–12 schools, where I saw how often people who don’t fit expectations are misunderstood or left behind. I chose to get an additional certification in ADHD because of the number of misdiagnoses and stigma this population experiences. I take a culturally inclusive, whole-person approach that considers identity, environment, and context. I draw from ACT and Adlerian therapy to help clients understand how they operate, shift patterns that no longer serve them, and move toward something more intentional. I don’t believe therapy is about becoming a “fixed” version of yourself. I believe in becoming whole with history—understanding your story, working with it, and building a life that feels like your own.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that the trick to living the life you want is not found in avoiding pain or suffering, but in learning how to move with it. Suffering is part of being human, and rather than seeing it as something to eliminate, I see it as something to understand, relate to, and grow alongside. In my view, meaningful change happens when people are given the space to be themselves without fear of judgment or rejection. Everyone deserves emotional safety—a place where their experiences can be spoken honestly and held with care. In a therapeutic context, I believe the role of support is not to fix a person, but to walk with them as they make sense of their own story, build resilience, and reconnect with what matters to them. I value compassion, presence, and respect for each person’s lived experience
