About My Clients
It’s Sunday night and you are dreading the week ahead. You are still exhausted from last week and as you start to think about what the next few days will bring you can feel the tension in your body. I have a passion for working with children, teens, & adults who feel overwhelmed, & need support working through their feelings, calming their worries, & building tools to handle whatever life throws their way. Hopefully our time together will be something you look forward to.
My Background and Approach
I like to collaborate with my clients and families to determine which treatment approach will work best for them. I offer art or play based therapy for children, or a calm, supportive space to feel heard and understood for teens & adults. I am trained in CBT, TF-CBT, DBT, Grief and Loss, Mindfulness Based Interventions, and Life is Good-Playmakers-Project Joy. I have worked with all ages but specialize in working with ages 5-12 as well as with women struggling with life stressors, maintaining work/life balance, maintaining healthy relationships and/or reproductive struggles including pregnancy loss and infertility. I worked as a therapist in a school setting for over 17 years. I have also worked in outpatient clinics and in a prison setting with adults, and with adolescents in residential facilities and juvenile detention centers.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone deserves to have peace and joy in their lives. We can work together to help you or child heal and grow so that you can find peace and happiness in your life despite some of the struggles you may have faced.
