Whether it's through painting, drawing, music, or movement, children can explore and communicate their emotions in a safe space through an activity they enjoy. Expressive arts encourage self-expression and individuation while offering opportunities to improve self-awareness and self-esteem, regulate behaviors and advance social skills.

Children use toys like adults use words, to symbolize how they feel and what is going on in their life. This is why play therapy is the primary mode through which I work with young children. Through play, children can process their thoughts and feelings about challenging situations and practice new skills and relational strategies, leading to increased internal strength and a decrease in problematic behaviors.

Growing up is hard and so is being a parent. I work to help families gain insight into problematic behavior to better understand their child and to strengthen their relationship. My goal is not just to alleviate immediate challenges but to equip kids with the tools they need to face future hurdles with confidence.

All children experience anxiety from time to time, but some are less able to cope with stressors or triggers. In most cases, kids don't understand they're anxious, and can't make sense of their negative experiences. Therapy can help kids gain self-esteem and learn how to manage their anxiety, a skill that can help them throughout their lifetime. 

When kids are confident and secure about who they are, they're more likely to have a growth mindset. That means they can motivate themselves to take on new challenges and cope with and learn from mistakes. They're also more likely to stand up for themselves and ask for help when they need it. I can help your child feel better about themselves and the world around them.
