About My Clients
My clients are awesome! I am a non-judgmental therapist and believe every client is unique with special strengths. I work with individuals and couples between 15 to 90 years old. My clients are people who are willing to make changes to improve their lives. I also work with alternative relationships, kink, and polyamory. I am a strong supporter of the LGTQ+ community and believe in providing supportive care.
My Background and Approach
I earned my counseling degree in Illinois and needed to take additional courses to earn my independent license in Indiana. Given that I had already taken the individual counseling courses, I took mostly marriage and family classes. I also earned my certificate in Professional Coaching. What does this mean? I have a lot of education behind me that allows me to work with a variety of clients. I have been in practice for over 13 years. I have exposure in many different therapeutic techniques which allows me to incorporate the best approach you need at any given moment. I am not the therapist that has clients come into my office, talk for the hour and I wish them a good week ahead. I work with my clients in learning techniques and how to incorporate the skills into their daily lives. I talk too. I want to address the underlying issues my clients present using the best method that will work for them in the moment. I am here for you to be your best self.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone has the inner strength to work towards being their best self. The trick is being the person willing to make the necessary changes and is open to new perspectives. I am a supporter of the LGBTQ+ community and work with LGBTQ+ individuals and couples. I am open minded and do not judge people because I am not perfect. I admit that I am older, with a lot of life experience. I love learning from my clients because my clients are awesome! My job is to help them believe and know it.
