About My Clients
I primarily work with individuals who are adults who are female-identifying and male-identifying. It would be my honor to work with clients on issues of mental health such as anxiety, depression, low self-worth, self-compassion and self-love.Before starting my private practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in TX & WA with a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Boston University (Graduated by January 2020), I had worked with survivors of domestic violence at a domestic violence shelter.
My Background and Approach
In the past, I have worked with adults and older adults who have experienced trauma either in their childhood or in adulthood. I’ve learned that mental health issues such as anxiety and depression in adults are rooted in the fear, guilt and shame stemming from past traumatic experiences. Through my prior work, I’ve observed that my trauma-informed approach and person-centered care helped my clients feel more heard and seen throughout therapy. I employ Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), mindfulness techniques, motivational interviewing, trauma-sensitive grounding methods. Oh, Yes! I very much care about YOU!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
You took the FIRST step in your path to wellness. I whole-heartedly welcome you with open arms and an open mind to a completely non-judgmental space. I strive towards creating the safety that you yearn for in this very moment to express your thoughts and feelings. As Brene Brown says, if we share our story with someone who responds with empathy and understanding, shame can’t survive. I look forward to being that empathic and compassionate person with whom you can share your story. I am truly honored and deeply humbled to be part of your healing journey. You are a person with many strengths with your own unique resilience and I only believe there is value in recognizing them to become more self-aware. This will be the foundation of coping skills to help slay all your life’s stressors!Together, we will learn how to use trauma-sensitive mindfulness techniques inside and outside the therapy room.
