About My Clients

My passion is working with the LQBTQ+ population and helping them reach their goals and recover from trauma. I enjoy working with individuals who struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, & relationship issues. As an LGBTQ+ person, it can be even more challenging to navigate relationships with family & romantic partners. I help clients manage their anxiety, create & maintain boundaries, expand their comfort zones, feel closer with their loved ones, & have a deeper understanding of themselves.

My Background and Approach

I graduated with my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Western Kentucky University in 2015. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC - #265305) and I am trained in Brainspotting (Phase One) and The Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level One). I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). I work to create a safe space for individuals with a nonjudgmental & warm approach. I have worked in a variety of settings including inpatient, substance abuse, and community mental health. My treatment approach is eclectic, implementing what works for each individual client, drawing from modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I implement Branspotting (a somatic, focused mindfulness modality) to help clients process trauma. I want my clients to see me as relatable, down-to-earth, LGBTQ+ affirming, and trauma-informed.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a member of the LGTBQ+ community and strive to learn as much as I can about the evolving identity of what it means to be queer. I honor individuals with alternative lifestyles and religious/spiritual beliefs, and love working with Kentuckians across various socioeconomic backgrounds. Everyone deserves to feel worthy of love and belonging regardless of where you come from or what your family background is. I am proud to say I've worked with a wide variety of clients across Kentucky, including rural community mental health in Barren County, working with homeless/at-risk youth in inner-city Louisville/Jefferson County, volunteering at the International Center of Bowling Green, and working at an inpatient psychiatric facility in Bowling Green. It has strengthened my skillset and competency as a therapist (and as a human!)
