About My Clients
I work with adults navigating trauma, neurodivergence, anxiety, depression, grief, relationships, substance use, and life transitions. I especially connect with people who are hard on themselves, feel pressure to get everything “right,” or are afraid of making a misstep. Therapy can be a space to understand where those patterns come from, develop more self-compassion, and build trust in yourself and your own way of moving through the world.
My Background and Approach
I’m a Colorado LCSW with a trauma-focused background and training in EMDR and animal-assisted therapies. I hold a degree in animal-integrated therapies and have extensive experience supporting people impacted by substance use, including work in multiple substance use treatment settings. I also have over a decade of experience working with survivors of intimate partner violence. My approach is warm, collaborative, and person-centered, with an emphasis on understanding the experiences and patterns that shape how you move through the world.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that therapy does not happen in a bubble. Our identities, communities, culture, relationships, and experiences with systems of power all shape how we move through the world, and I believe those realities deserve to be acknowledged in the therapy office. I am openly and unapologetically pro-LGBTQ+ and have extensive experience working with LGBTQ+ individuals in affirming, supportive ways. I am also firmly opposed to ICE and the harm caused by immigration enforcement. Earlier in my career, I worked with the NAACP advocating for marginalized communities and people of color. I am outspoken about my values and believe that being a therapist does not require me to be neutral about human dignity, equity, or safety. My goal is to create a space where clients can bring their whole selves, especially the parts of their identity and lived experience that may not always feel safe or understood elsewhere.
