Are you struggling with the quality of relationships in your life? Do you find yourself repeating familiar patterns that lead to conflict and disconnection? I am passionate about the power of relationships to bolster our well being and am excited to support you (individually or with your partner) in building more effective relating.
My Background and Approach
You are a unique embodiment of your life experiences, and as a therapist I bring genuine curiosity to know and understand you, and help manifest your visions and dreams. My goal is to help you live a satisfying and fulfilling life, overcoming patterns that don't serve you. I offer both practical strategies and a supportive and safe environment for processing life and relational challenges. I am certified in Relational Life Therapy, developed by Terry Real, and am completing certification in Healing Our Core Issues model, addressing developmental and relational wounds. Mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, attachment theory and nonviolent communication inform my work as well. We will continually assess how things are going and make adjustments to ensure that your investment in treatment is providing you with meaningful outcomes. Clients tend to experience me as warm, accepting, creative, curious, insightful and encouraging. Expect to both laugh and cry during our time together.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that the quality of our lives is a reflection of the quality of our relationships. And how we function in our relationships is a manifestation of our early experiences, what was modeled, tolerated, rejected and even praised. By shining the light of warm curiosity upon our past we can make explicit the stories of our past and awaken awareness to the present stage of our lives. From this place we can both heal the wounds from the past and more intentionally pave the way forward with intention, rather than reaction and habit. I believe that a combination of cognitive process (such as thinking, explaining, and learning) and experiential process (such as minds-eye work, somatic experience) allow us to truly heal and grow. My in-depth training in the models I work from provide a strong foundation to guide our work that will be uniquely responsive to your story and goals.
