About My Clients
Life can be difficult, but you shouldn’t have to navigate it alone. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I aim to provide a safe place with unconditional positive regard to support those who are ready to allow me to be a part of their journey.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in working with individuals and families that have been impacted by foster care, adoption, attachment, and trauma. I am passionate about supporting youth and adults in thriving; including providing parenting support, utilizing strengths, and overall providing a safe place for you to begin your journey. We all are able to heal and thrive through the support of healthy relationships. I am certified in Parent-Child Interactive Therapy (PCIT), and have training in Adoption and Permanency Curriculum, formerly known as Adoption Clinical Training (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Seeking Safety, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I utilize a person-centered approach and view the therapeutic relationship as an essential part of therapy. My priority is to make sure that it is a right fit between me and the client. I also utilize a blend of attachment-based interventions, cognitive behavioral therapy, and trauma based interventions. I make a concerted effort to be culturally supportive and gender / sexuality affirming of my clients and to be aware of my privilege. I do this through personal research, readings, consultations and trainings. I also strive to make my therapeutic space safe for everyone. Racism, bigotry, sexism, classism, ablism, and hatred are not tolerated.
