About My Clients
I serve adults 18+ years from all different racial backgrounds and cultures. I specialize in working with folks who identify as — people of color , LGBTQ, Healthcare and Mental Health Professionals, Asian, and Cambodian-Americans. I incorporate modalities that come out of Cambodian healing practices, Internal Family System (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Problem Solving Therapy.
My Background and Approach
As a Khmer-American therapist, I understand the unique challenges that arise from navigating between two cultures. I am invested in creating a safe and welcoming space for individuals who are seeking support in navigating these complexities. With a foundation in culturally responsive therapy, I work collaboratively with my clients to explore their experiences, values, and beliefs. My goal is to empower clients to develop skills and strategies to improve their overall wellbeing and strengthen their sense of identity and process trauma events that have held them in shackles. This may look like letting go of relationships that no longer serves you. By investing in yourself, you may start to feel lighter, develop a sense of self-compassion, gain confidence, and be able to make decisions from a place of your full authentic self. I am passionate about helping clients connect with their roots while also embracing their individuality. Together, we can work towards healing and growth.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am dedicated to helping individuals heal from the effects of trauma. I am the first generation birthed after the Cambodian genocide, I have a deep understanding of the impact of trauma on individuals and communities. I am passionate about decolonizing the therapy space and creating a safe and inclusive environment where individuals can heal and grow.
