About My Clients
I work with people who are hurting from difficult life circumstances, relationships, transitions, and loss. You'll feel heard and validated, and we'll work to access your natural healing strengths. We'll bring awareness to your thoughts and emotions, their sources, and how they affect your behavior. We'll use that awareness to take tangible steps towards your goals. Most importantly, we will create a trusting place for you to express your authentic self and be seen.
My Background and Approach
My style as a therapist is warm, intuitive, egalitarian, non-judgmental, and empowering. I use psychodynamic and ACT approaches in my practice and am also trained in CBT. I am a certified Life Coach and can integrate that into our practice if you so choose.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
It is normal to have a running narrative about who you are in this world. We use certain words to describe ourselves, like “I’m shy.” “I’m an anxious person.” “I’m bad at relationships.” While these stories are based on real experiences, they can also hold power over our self-esteem, our decision-making, and our relationships. I used to be bound by a negative self-concept. Always introspective and curious, I set on a mission to explore and shift that narrative. I even traveled around the world on solo backpacking trips to explore new realms both externally and internally, and learned a lot along the way. Most notably, I came to firmly believe that the seed of change lies in self-acceptance. Thankfully, you don’t have to travel around the world to find self-acceptance. In therapy, we can go on that journey together. I find this journey is best supported by building a life worth living, and focusing less on what's wrong, and more on what I need more of to be engaged in a rewarding life.
