About My Clients

My clients come to therapy because they feel disconnected - from loved ones, from their best self or more often from both. Whether you are trying to navigate the joys and heartaches of relationships in your life, or you are trying to connect with, and feel good about, who you are, I want to help you find a way forward. Together we will explore your own inner experience, identify needs that aren't getting met, and find actions you can take to start feeling better.

My Background and Approach

Trained as a marriage and family therapist, my background is in family systems and how we relate to the people and larger systems around us. I bring over five years of experience in the mental health field, including specific work with body image and eating disorders, child and family therapy and community mental health. My passions include supporting clients in embracing their own individual identities, bodies, sexuality and relationships as valid and unique human experiences. I offer a non-judgmental space for you to bring the things that feel hardest for you. I support you in identifying ways that you can make meaningful change towards feeling more connected to yourself and others. I believe that real change is possible when you can use your inner experience, emotions and values as a guide for making choices that feel congruent for you. My Personal Beliefs and Interests

One of the things that is most important to me is providing a space where each client can feel safe, cared about and accepted for who they are. As a member of the LGBTQ community and the Health At Every Size (HAES) community, I feel strongly about challenging societal messages about who deserves acceptance, as well as challenging my own unconscious bias. I bring this awareness into my work with clients, and invite you to share your experience of living in the world - including and especially how the therapy relationship feels for you. This is your space and I want you to feel seen and supported by your therapist. Contact me or visit my website for more info: https://www.relationshipcounselingportland.com/
