About My Clients
Many of my clients were raised in homes where expressing feelings or questioning expectations was met with shame—or even punishment. If this sounds familiar, you too may have learned to make yourself smaller in order to gain approval. Outside the home, you may have also felt pressure to conform to the values and expectations of those around you. Perhaps that meant presenting yourself as polished and without flaws, not only to find belonging, but also to succeed.
My Background and Approach
As a bilingual (Spanish/English) Latina therapist, I support Latine, first-gen, & BIPOC individuals navigating identity, cultural belonging, intergenerational trauma, family dynamics, relationship challenges, mental health stigma, and academic or career burnout. Using a strengths-based, attachment-focused approach, I help you reconnect with yourself & build more fulfilling relationships with your loved ones. With over 9 years of experience, I deeply value the privilege of serving communities of color in culturally affirming ways.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Growing up, you could find me in the self-help aisle of my local library, holding some version of Chicken Soup for the Soul. I was drawn to the storytelling and kept returning for the emotional portrayal of different life experiences—many of which I had never encountered before. As a child of immigrants, conversations about feelings were rare in my household, and that absence sparked a deep curiosity to better understand myself and others. In high school, I enrolled in AP Psychology to explore the inherited and learned factors that shape our experiences in the world. That curiosity eventually led me to pursue a career in the mental health field. Now, as a licensed professional counselor and registered art therapist, I can say that my curiosity has been fulfilled in many ways. I also recognize that curiosity is a lifelong practice—one I continue to approach with the same wonder and commitment I had as a child.
