About My Clients
My clients are often capable, responsible adults who are genuinely good at handling hard things. They may be dealing with trauma or PTSD, anxiety, chronic stress, depression, relationship difficulties, or patterns they understand but haven't been able to change. Their lives may not be falling apart, but something is taking more energy than it should. They're ready to stop simply managing around the problem and make meaningful changes in how they live, respond, and relate to others.
My Background and Approach
I’m a veteran and Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 11 years of clinical experience. Before founding Resurgence Therapy, I spent my clinical career in VA and Department of Defense settings. I have specialized training in evidence-based trauma treatments, including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Written Exposure Therapy (WET), and Cognitive Behavioral Conjoint Therapy for PTSD, and I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) extensively. My approach is warm, direct, collaborative, and active. I won’t just nod while you talk. We’ll work to understand what’s happening, why certain patterns keep showing up, and what can actually help change them. Treatment is individualized, practical, and evidence-based, without making therapy feel clinical or impersonal. I want you to be able to show up as yourself, talk openly about what is and isn’t working, and leave therapy with more than insight into the problem.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe people can be incredibly capable and still be affected by what they’ve experienced. Being able to push through something doesn’t mean it isn’t costing you, and needing help doesn’t require your life to be falling apart. I believe therapy should be collaborative, honest, and useful. You are the expert on your life, and my role isn’t to sit above you or tell you who you should be. I bring clinical expertise, curiosity, directness, and a willingness to challenge patterns that aren’t serving you. I’m a Christian, and I’m comfortable incorporating faith into therapy when it is meaningful to you. I also work with people of different faiths or no faith at all and will never impose my beliefs on your treatment. Above all, I believe therapy should give you room to be fully human while helping you create changes that matter outside the therapy room.
