About My Clients

We might be a good fit if you are Asian, Black, Indigenous, Latinx, first generation, queer, or gender expansive. I help people find relief from the pain and stress of grief, anxiety, depression, parenting, intergenerational trauma, chronic illness, and systemic oppression. I am currently offering both in-person therapy and secure telehealth video sessions for clients in Oregon during the COVID-19 pandemic.

My Background and Approach

Wellness naturally arises when we experience empathy, acceptance, curiosity, and hope in relationships. I aim to bring these qualities to our therapeutic relationship, and support you in creating this kind of relationship with the important people in your life. I believe each client has the capacity for healing and self-actualization. I bring my full authentic self into my relationship with clients so they may feel understood, valued, and empowered to move towards growth at every point in the lifespan. I celebrate my clients’ unique culture, wisdom, strengths, and identities. I collaborate with clients to explore how systems of power and oppression impact their well-being. I support clients in making meaning in their lives and relationships. I hold a master’s degree in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling from Portland State University with a focus in chronic illness and disability.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a passionate advocate and community leader. I currently hold a Governor-appointed, Senate-confirmed position on the Oregon Board of Psychology. I am the Past President of the Oregon Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development, served as the Secretary of the Oregon Counseling Association, and served on the American Counseling Association Anti-Racism Taskforce in 2020. I am the proud daughter of Muslim immigrants and am a first-generation college student. I have been teaching in PSU's Counselor Education Department since 2020.
