About My Clients

My Background and Approach
In 2013, Skylar completed her studies at the University of North Florida, obtaining a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling. Skylar’s undergraduate Psychology studies were completed at the University of South Florida. After graduating with her Master’s Degree, Skylar worked as a Substance Abuse Counselor at Lakeview Health in Jacksonville, Florida, from 2013 to 2021. Her work as an inpatient therapist at Lakeview provided her extensive experience working with patients of varying demographics and diagnoses. After eight fulfilling years working in the realm of substance abuse, Skylar sought a new challenge and decided to pursue working with patients who did not present with substance abuse as a primary reason for seeking treatment. From 2021 to 2023, Skylar worked as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor providing individual therapy to patients in person and via telehealth in a group practice setting at Pacifica Care Jacksonville.
