About My Clients
I work with adolescents and adults navigating OCD, anxiety, trauma, race-based stress, and depression. My clients are often high-functioning on the outside but quietly overwhelmed within. Many have never had a therapist who truly understood their cultural experiences. If you've tried therapy before and didn't feel seen — or if you're finally ready to take that first step — you've found the right place. You belong here.
My Background and Approach
I earned my doctorate in clinical psychology from Spalding University and completed my postdoctoral fellowship at UNC Charlotte. I am also a PSYPACT provider, meaning I can serve clients across multiple states via telehealth. I specialize in OCD treatment using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) — the gold standard, evidence-based approach — as well as trauma, race-based traumatic stress, anxiety, and depression. What that means for you is that you're not getting generic therapy. You're getting targeted, research-backed treatment from a clinician who has dedicated her career to these specific areas. I serve as faculty for the International OCD Foundation's Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI), training other therapists in evidence-based OCD care. I have presented nationally, and my scholarship has contributed to the psychological literature on OCD and racial trauma. What matters most is that you feel genuinely understood, respected, and empowered in our work together.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a Black woman, a psychologist, and a passionate advocate for mental health equity. I believe quality mental health care should be accessible to everyone — regardless of race, gender, cultural background, etc. I am committed to reducing mental health stigma within communities of color and training the next generation of culturally responsive clinicians. As IOCDF BTTI faculty, I work to ensure therapists serving underserved communities have the tools to do so effectively. My doctoral research examined the psychological impact of race-based trauma among Black Lives Matter activists — reflecting my longstanding commitment to understanding the mental health consequences of systemic racism. I believe the therapeutic relationship is sacred. Every client deserves to feel fully seen, deeply respected, and genuinely empowered. That is not just a professional value — it is a personal one.
