I began working with clients who have been victim to abuse in 2007. It was at this point that I made the choice to specialize in and focus my treatment on clients who have endured some form of abuse (rape, domestic violence, workplace abuse, emotional abuse, physical assault etc) .

Attachment therapy is another love of mine. I recognize that most adult problems are a result of some form of neglect in childhood. As a result, I have sought training therplay that works to support children in developing healthy attachments with their caregivers. I find that this form of treatment works well with adults as well. I have utilized this form of treatment with my clients for over 3 years and find it to be very successful especially with children in foster/adoption.

I have worked with children and adults who have been victims of sexual assault as well as human trafficking. I have specialized training in working with those who have been victims of such trauma. I have extensive training as a trauma-focused clinician that includes training in EMDR, TF-CBT, and PPP.

I have been trained in EMDR (I also utilized a lot of EFT- emotional freedom technique) as well as the Flas technique) to treat clients. I am actively working towards certification.

I have been trained in various forms of attachment therapy including working with infants. Additionally, I have training in theraplay which supports not only children but adults as well. I have found this form of therapy to work exceptionally well with clients who have had a disturbance in their attachment while in the foster care system.

I have been using CBT as a form of treatment since 2007. I find it suits most clients at various times in the therapy process. I have further expanded my training to become trained in trauma-focused CBT to support clients who have been exposed to some form of trauma.
