About My Clients
Clients come to me wishing they could derive more quality from their lives. I have experience working with clients struggling with a myriad of concerns, but specialize in trauma and stressor-related disorders, anxiety disorders, depressive/mood disorders, LGBTQIA+, chronic illness including end of life, and grief. I have benefited from therapy as a client, and because my experience in therapy was so transformative, I feel called to help others find equilibrium.
My Background and Approach
A strong therapeutic alliance between counselor and client sets the foundation for healing and growth, and this informs my holistic approach which will be unique to your needs. I am a strengths-based, solution-focused, trauma-informed therapist that recognizes your inherent capacity for change and how your past life experiences have contributed to your present. We collaborate with the understanding that we each bring different tools to your treatment plan; you are the expert in you, even if it doesn’t always feel like it, and I am here to support you by bringing my clinical expertise. I have developed an approach drawing from multiple therapeutic techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and internal family systems parts work. Additionally, I have completed Phase One training in Brainspotting developed by Dr. David Grand, a revolutionary approach to helping clients with a multitude of concerns.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a proud bisexual woman, mother, and partner. I believe we are shaped by many contributing factors, many being outside of our control, and not always stemming from our intention or choosing. We are global citizens; we are complex, messy, and beautiful humans capable of change and growth. Our thoughts and actions have a greater impact that ripples beyond our understanding and perception. I stand with and for the underprivileged and disenfranchised. I recognize the need for equity over equality, and though I may not understand, I stand.
