About My Clients
I have worked with individuals ages 5-64, from different backgrounds and stages of life. I best serve ages 6-10 and 35-45 who are coping with life stressors or healing from trauma. Healing isn't linear and the process can feel lonely, confusing, and sometimes the waves can be hard to manage. If you enjoy being in a validating and empathetic space while focusing on your strengths and creativity, I look forward to supporting you in finding the tools to help you ride those waves.
My Background and Approach
Over the course of my career I have used many different modalities to support individuals in meeting their desired goals. Some of these include Client-Centered, Art Therapy, Play Therapy, Trauma-Informed Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Regardless of which modality you prefer, I take a collaborative, non-directive approach and I move with you, at your pace. Whether we're working on managing anxiety, increasing self-confidence, or building healthy communication skills, I will share tools and techniques along our journey for you to use wherever you go. I am currently serving clients virtually in California, Colorado, Idaho, Oklahoma, and Utah.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe healing isn't linear and that when we truly listen to our bodies, we will know the answer. For many years, society has shaped what is normalized. I believe in challening the stigma around feeling our emotions, what it means to be productive, healing quickly, and our overall mental health. As a child, I experienced trauma and depression, but due to stigma and lack of education in the South Asian community, mental health was not an accepted conversation starter. It wasn't until I started my graduate program when I realized I was experiencing trauma; I was living in survival mode. It wasn't until my young adulthood when I finally sought professional support. This experience motivated me to work with children and help adults connect and heal from their own trauma.
